Culture Summit Abu Dhabi

Culture Summit Abu Dhabi cancels 2020 edition; new dates to be announced

In view of the global health implications and travel restrictions imposed by some countries, the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, in consultation with its partners, announces the cancellation of this year’s Culture Summit, scheduled for 5-9 April.

As Culture Summit is a forum for broad and deep engagement by the world cultural community, and because many members of the culture constituency would not be able to add their voices this year, the forum would not wholly fulfill its role. We thank all of our invited speakers for their time and expertise over the last several months to develop a robust programme. We hope and expect our collective investment will find realisation next year.

Each edition of Culture Summit has brought together cultural leaders, practitioners and experts from the fields of art, heritage, museums, media and technology to generate new strategies and thinking, and to identify ways in which culture can transform societies and communities worldwide.

Culture Summit is a leading global forum, committed to exploring creative cultural solutions to the most pressing issues affecting the world today. These relationships and dialogues remain as important as ever and DCT Abu Dhabi, alongside its partners, will continue to drive these critical cultural conversations throughout the year. DCT Abu Dhabi will be announcing details on upcoming programming in due course.

Finally, we are grateful for the continued engagement and support of our partners and community, who, like us, believe in the importance of global cultural dialogue. Our thoughts are with everyone globally who has been affected by the current outbreak.
