CULTURESUMMIT ABU DHABI PROGRAMME

Unexpected Collaborations: Forging New Connections Between Heritage and Innovation, Near and Far, Creativity and Purpose

This year’s programme will focus on partnerships that are unique, different, and which blend tradition and innovation. Workshops, presentations, and performances throughout the event will engage participants in expanding on their ideas about how culture can tackle the 21st century regional and global issues.

All workshop discussions will explore how policy, technology, new media, artists, arts institutions, and philanthropic communities can create new and effective collaborations to address global matters. The sessions will have the goal of producing specific recommendations to impact future projects.

A special portion of the programme will take place at the newly opened Louvre Abu Dhabi—an unprecedented and highly anticipated cultural collaborative institution—with events and tours scheduled exclusively for participants of CultureSummit 2018. A truly universal museum, Louvre Abu Dhabi’s exhibition design explores connections between civilisations and cultures.

Visual arts from these people and a sample presentation will take place during the main summit but one or more performances and conversations or roundtables will be offered during the Al Ain segment of the program and dinner. This will be a farewell dinner for all participants, more relaxed and casual than the previous dinners – designed to focus on personal relationships and UAE hospitality.
